Single-page edition is broken
[edit]Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/Single/2025-01-15 is nearly empty, and Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/Single shows the list of stories (slightly broken) but not the stories itself. @JPxG: can you take a look? FunIsOptional (talk) (please use ping!) 08:07, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- In bed but I think it is https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/2025-01-15/Op-ed -- throwing a ref error is what the single page says. Try
intitle:"Signpost/2025-01-15" insource:/\<ref/
to find ref tags in articles ? I would appreciatr someone helping eith this. jp×g🗯️ 08:20, 15 January 2025 (UTC)- ohhhh i bet its the CALCULATORS. well ok here are the pagesizes

- Okay, God knows what is actually wrong -- I am severely in need of going back to bed -- but I have gotten some grotesque trailer-park hack to work so that people can, at least, read a working single-page edition for these first few hours. This should be diagnosed and fixed when I wake up. Thanks to @Tamzin: for figuring out that just transclusing the articles directly worked... jp×g🗯️ 08:50, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you! FunIsOptional (talk) (please use ping!) 09:04, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- Looks like the original version of the single page edition works now, but
Post‐expand include size: 2003573/2097152 bytes
is really close to the limit. You are probably right that the calculator examples take up quite a bit of that limit (The calculator article is 892980 / 2097152 bytes which is 43% of that limit). Bawolff (talk) 12:57, 15 January 2025 (UTC)

Possibly unrelated to the above, I cleaned up some mismatched block and article start/end tags that were causing some of the articles to be too narrow in the single-page edition. A check for matching start/end templates could go on the publication checklist. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:01, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
Humour
[edit]I've tried to write a sequel to my "How to make friends" guide here. Input is welcome. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 21:48, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
Single page edition is broken again
[edit]Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/Single/2025-02-07
I can see three red links instead of the relevant sections. --2A04:4A43:909F:F990:D0:B7A6:F407:709A (talk) 02:22, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- Appears to be caused by that emergency hack by JPxG above. I've reverted to the older "unhacked" version which appears to be working. FunIsOptional (talk) (please use ping!) 06:39, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
Social media suggestion
[edit]I noticed that the Signpost currently posts on Twitter, Facebook, and Mastodon. I would like to suggest potentially branching out to Bluesky. It is a very popular Twitter alternative, with over 30 million accounts, and a lot of former Twitter users have moved over. QuicoleJR (talk) 20:13, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
RfA debrief
[edit]Hello, I was emailed a little while back by @Svampesky asking about the possibility of an RfA debrief—I've just posted it at User:Giraffer/RfA debrief. I'm happy for this to be published in The Signpost but I would prefer to keep it as a userspace essay and have it copied over (with attribution as necessary etc etc) rather than moved. Feel free to do any of the necessary wizardry to turn it into something publishable. I'm travelling at the moment but if you need anything just shoot me a ping. Thanks, Giraffer (talk) 22:20, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
